I just wanted to take a moment to plug a new site that’s starting up. Trap Door Sun is a website and blog that will feature

“engaging interviews, whimsical blogging, and overall tasty cultural something, something, something.”

So far they’ve got their first issue of interviews up, and the blogging is continuous.

The site is primarily operated by Tim Willard, a friend of one of my friends. He’s got a heart for God, and has quite a way with words. I look forward to keeping up with this one in my RSS reader. Check it out!

Trap Door Sun

Myerstown Grace Brethren Church held the last NAC event of this school year today. For those who don’t know, Nurturing Abilities for Christ is a place where Grace Brethren teens gather a few times each year to share their talents and minister to each other. Categories of ministry include singing, interpretive dance, puppets, teen challenge, and many others. Many churches in our district also have quiz teams that compete to exercise Bible memory.

Today I helped out by judging vocals, instrumental solos, and a few praise bands. I have attended and/or participated NACs for eight years, and I think it’s a wonderful opportunity for young people. It’s a great way to exercise their God-given gifts and present them to others.

Because I was judging, I didn’t get any photos of the entries, but here are a few pictures from the finger blaster games afterward!

I guess I’ll write another blog on Mom’s birthday. I’ve only written two since then (now deleted), but oh well. This semester I have to blog for one of my classes, but unfortunately I will be using material that cannot be used on a public blog. I may repost some of my entries on here if they don’t infringe.

This past weekend I played worship for Carlisle Brethren in Christ’s junior high retreat. The kids had a wonderful time despite the smaller turnout this year. It turned out that the size enhanced the weekend, allowing the kids and leaders to form a more close-knit group. I’m also happy to say that the kids really enjoyed my music. I sold five or six CDs, and hopefully I’ll be able to play at their church some Wednesday with Elyon’s Fire. Here’s a video recap of the week, put together by Brian Ford.
